After being fired by the New Orleans Police Department, former detective Carl Edwards, joins the Tactical Research Unit for Truth and Heritage, a secret government agency tasked with keeping the monsters from folklore and legend hidden from the public eye. On his first official case as an agent for TRUTH, Carl is sent to Giltrock, Arizona, where rumors swirl about a beastly, two-headed creature responsible for the death of a local miner. Townspeople call this creature “The Red Ghost,” and its appearances seem to coincide with another discovery. Recently Lost Hope Mines have been under construction to convert from a silver mine to a tourist attraction, when a large silver disc was uncovered in a hidden room in the mine. What brought this to TRUTH’s attention was the terrifyingly family sigil etched into the surface of the disc.
Accompanied by his recruiting agent, Carl sets out to discover the connection between the murder in the mines and a previous case which nearly cost him his life in this fact-paced follow up to Bloodstains on the Bayou Stage
